I am Woman. Hear me ROAR!

So this weekend I went shopping as I often do when I am bored. I stumbled on this little beauty at Sears. I've been looking for a kitchen table and this one was beautiful (notice how it sorta matches my other little end table) and was the right price. Plus 10% off for using a Sears card. Plus 10% off for being an associate. Basically, it was meant to be.

Well, at least I thought it was meant to be until I tried to put this bad boy in my car. I have a pretty big trunk, but there wasn't a chance that this thing was going to fit. The associate helping me knew that I didn't stand a chance so we decided I would come back when I got a truck and a friend to help me. Fortunately (sometimes unfortunately) I have stubborn as a lASSen blood in me and I wanted it NOW. As I was driving away, without my table, I was brainstorming of ways I could get it home today. I racked my brain for people I knew with a truck and nothing to do on a Saturday. Not a likely combination around here. But suddenly it dawned on me and I turned around determined to get my table.

I got back to Sears and the Merchandise Pickup kid thought I was nuts and looked outside to find my truck. I told him I didn't have a truck, I had a plan. He brought it back out and I proceeded to open the box and pull all of the pieces out. Twenty minutes later with no help from anyone and after many stares from bystanders, the table was safely in my car. This worked out much better anyway because I was able to then carry all of the pieces into my apartment. It would have been too heavy for me to take by myself. I was so proud of my little self. I can be independent if I need to be.

After my triumphant return home, I lugged all of the pieces into my apartment and started building. It says in the instructions that it is recommended that two people assemble the table. Ha! I am no ordinary assembler though and got it done no problem, on my own. I am amazing. Look at the beautiful craftsmanship. I feel as though this table is my own child. Eventually, I'll be telling people I built it with my own bare hands from scrap wood.

And to prove that I was not crazy thinking this table would fit in my trunk...

A full-grown woman ladies and gentlemen.

Way to not give up! this summer i went to lowes with my allero and decided to buy a lawn mower, two lawn chairs (none bendable kind) and one lawn table. and i made it fit into my car along with Makayla in her carseat and a cooler i had left in the trunk, and a fly fishing pole i didn't know could be undone to be smaller. we had to take the lawnmower out of the box to get it into my trunk and i drove with lawn chairs in my passenger seat and the table and cooler in the back with Makayla. So who needs a truck if your a woman?

Your table IS beautiful! Yay! I remember when I bought my table... it also called for a two person assemblage, and I also put it together on my own. Yeah!

That is awesome Ashley. You crack me up. Though I don't think Amy counts as a "full grown" woman. ;) j/k. Sounds like things are moving along nicely for you and I am excited to read future blog posts.
