Something has changed within me

For those of you who don't know...I've generally been a bit of a Scrooge when it comes to certain things pertaining to Christmas. I don't like Christmas music and I especially don't like Christmas music before Thanksgiving. I don't think Christmas decorations put up until after Thanksgiving. And so on and so forth. This year however, something strange happened.

It all started when I unexpectedly bought a Christmas decoration. I wasn't planning on getting anything when I walked into Michael's but I walked out with a Santa Clause door hanger and a "Christmas Memories" scented candle. That was November 7. The Santa Clause has been hanging and the candle has been burning since that day. I can't seem to get enough. I've wanted to put up my own decorations for several weeks now but I feel like I'm going against everything I've ever stood for.

I've decided to take baby steps towards the early Christmas spirit. When I catch a radio station playing Christmas music, I don't immediately turn it. And last night, I helped Blake put up his Christmas tree. Seeing his tree really makes me want a big tree of my own. Mine is pathetically small but easy to maintain. I'm getting to the point in life where decorating is less about convenience and more about the final product. I thought this day would never come. I'm finally starting to fit in with my family. What a relief.
Isn't Blake's tree nice? Unfortunately, even though I've changed my ways and gotten the decoration bug, I can't do anything about it. I am puppy sitting over Thanksgiving and don't want her to think she has new snow men toys. Oh well, maybe next year.

Ashlee I am the same way! but some reason this year I have caught the bug too. I have thought about putting my stuff up early this year. I have had to stop myself a few times. Still can't do it until after Thanksgiving.

You people! If I didn't have a scrooge for a husband I would have my Christmas Crap out on November 1st! Just watch out for the Christmas Gnomes, for some reason they are out in force this year...or maybe that's the "bug" that bit you!! Look out for little red pointy hats!!!
