The first time in recorded history that I have seen the sunrise

It started when my friend CJ asked if anyone wanted to go to Indiana with him at 3 a.m. to keep him company on the way to his triathlon. Jodi and I figured, why not? Turns out it was TOTALLY worth it.

Jodi and I left my place at 2 a.m. which means we really didn't sleep. We rode in a Mustang convertible so although it got a little cold, the experience was amazing. We saw a lot of cool things along the way including a car completely engulfed in flames, a McDonald's in the middle of the tollway, and of course, the beautiful sunrise.

Me, Jodi, and CJ while driving.

I think it's funny that we attached a bike to his convertible. That's just not something you see everyday.

The racers had their ages written on the back of their legs so Jodi and I made a game out of it. We were surprised almost every time we found out how old they were. This guy was 76!

CJ was in the first wave and he was really close to the front of the pack the whole time. He said that while in the water, there are elbows and people pulling you under or swimming on top of you. Crazy!

Here he comes in the last leg of the race. The whole race consisted of 700 yards of swimming, 16 miles of biking, and then 4 miles of running. He did it all in just over an hour.

He placed 34th out of 600+ people and won a plaque because he was 3rd in his age group. Jodi and I were wonderful groupies and screamed really loud for him when he walked up to accept it. When he came back though, I had to ask him what he won because I didn't hear them announce it. The people sitting next to us thought that was pretty funny and I told them maybe we needed some more experience as groupies. :)

About 2 hours after we got back from Indy, we had to go to our other friends Heather and Mike's wedding reception. As you can see from this picture, Jodi and I got a little sunburned on the way home. That's what will happen when you are directly under the sun from about 11-3. Jodi is still suffering.

Me and Heather. She was such a beautiful bride.

By the time they were done, there was frosting EVERYWHERE. I went behind that table to cut the cake and I nearly died as I slipped on the frosting on the floor.

With all of the stuff going on around here, I totally live for the weekends. Is that a bad thing? I'm going to go with no.
